Mizuhiki

Mizuhiki is the traditional Japanese art of tying decorative knots using paper cords, often attached to envelopes and wrapped gifts that are given during special occasions.

Mizuhiki is made of paper that is twisted and starched then painted or wrapped with threads or metallic film.

Mizuhiki is only used on limited occasions, however recently the beauty of the Mizuhiki has been recognised once again and is gaining in popularity.

They are now used for jewellery and small interior design items.
